Your suggestion needed-gun 4 trap & protection

Hi friends
I want to buy one 12 gauge shotgun that I can shoot trap with and also use for home defense. I know that's a lot to ask of one gun. I'd like a semi auto ....was thinking of a Benelli but open to your recommendations. I want to purchase in the next week or two.

Your thoughts?

Any recommendations on a trap gun? Won't be competing, just having fun two or three times a month. Don't want single shot or over/under though.

I'd highly recommend a Benelli...love mine.

The only drawback is...for the HD role, you'll likely want a different barrel. And Benelli barrels are awfully darn expensive.

To be dead honest...for what you'd spend on a Benelli and a spare barrel, you could likely get two dedicated use shotguns...or get the benelli for clays, and get a used 870 or Mossberg 500 for defense, likely for less than the benelli barrel would run.
Just pick out a good trap gun. You vcan use any shotgun for HD. Go for the Binelli if that's what you like. Or the Saiga12 is always good for anything ;-]
OP, I agree with Cuda.

My trap gun has a 26" barrel. Not really ideal for home defense.
There are a few combo deals that have a long barrel and short barrel. Mossberg, remington, and a few others.

Yeah, I was thinking of the combo guns, good point though.
I'm wanting the Remington 887 combo, but I agree, you can get a good HD 12 ga. dirt cheap if he wanted to get seperate guns. This Legacy Sports Escort could be had for under $300
