Winchester Model 40?

How rare is this model? How many survived the return for a new M-12 and are they worth anything as collector's items?
Some of you may not be familiar with the M-40 but they were made during the early 1940's but proved to be very unreliable so the company offered any owner to send their M-40 in and receive a new M-12 in return. Thanks for looking!

some collect them, just to say they have one.
rule of thumb is if they are worn, they obviously worked. its the nice clean new ones that are suspect to failure.
i sold my M40 skeet because i never used it.
