Won a near mint Winchester 1300 Defender on GB a few weeks ago. I have no plans to make it "tacticool" beyond adding a flashlight, which I have already done. I mounted a Surefire G2X Tactical LED Flashlight using a CDM Gear MOD-C Clamp. I really like how clean this all looks.

The 2nd part of this post is a range report. Took the 1300 to the range yesterday and killed some cardboard with Federal Tactical LE132 00 Buck. I made some crude targets from a cardboard box and shot at 5, 10 and 15 yards. At 5 yards, all 9 pellets punched a 1" hole. At 10 yards, all 9 pellets were within 2.5". At 15 yards, 7 pellets were within 2", 8 pellets were within 3.25", and all 9 pellets were within 5.5". I am very impressed with the LE132 ... very tight patterns out of an 18.5" barrel, and very easy on the shoulder.

No BS, you done good on that one. I like that light and clamp set up too.
Congrats on your new Defender, looking good!
I like the mount a lot. I need to pick one of those up. Congrats on the new gun and happy shooting
Nice pics of your patterns...should prove to anyone how subscribes to the "cone of death" theory of shotguns (or as I like to refer to it, shotgun myth #3) that it just ain't so.

I've always liked the 1300...enjoy!
You may also want to consider the Hogue Overmolded 12" LOP stock.
Thanks for the compliments all ...

Actually, I have been considering the Hogue stock. Have seen quite a few posts on this and everybody seems to really like it. The concern I have is that I'm 6'4" with long arms and 12" from trigger to shoulder seems very short.
if u are that tall i dont think u will like it. im 5'8" and its ALMOST to short for me.

I like that light holder so much better than my duct tape plan, that I went ahead and ordered one of those MOD-C clamps for my Surefire. Thanks for posting 10P8triot!

You're welcome. Hey, I kinda like the duct tape look. Found this example over on SIGforum ...

Don't mind at all, and glad to have helped you decide on the MOD-C clamp. Show us some pics when you get the clamp in and mounted on your SG.

Good call on the MOD-C clamp. Thanks for the info!!

I was at a LGS yesterday and they had what looked to be a new W 1300 Defender with wood stock and fore end. They had it marked for 300.00. If i had not just bought my SXP, I might have snagged it. Is that a good price?
I paid $250 for mine, which I thought was a great price considering the condition. I think $300 is a good price for like new 1300 D with wood furniture. I'd offer $250, but would probably buy for $300. They are selling for a lot more than $300 on GB. Here's some recently completed auctions ...

The one I looked at has never been fired. It appears to be new. I'll get a closer look soon. I probably shouldn't since I just bought an SXP. Once again, thanks for the great info No BS!!
you can't beat the 1300 for simplicity and effectiveness
On mine I added a Houge rubber overmold youth stock to make it shorter. It made it so both my wife and I could easily use it. Mine is boring the stock is the only mod to it.
I ended up getting the 1300 for 275.00. Excellent used condition.
