But until last Tuesday I hadn't heard anything about Canadian veterinarians.
Shot skeet with a former Canadian Olympic Skeet shooter Tuesday, a guy who's a lifelong Canadian and he told me about his recent problems with one of his dogs.
Turns out when he took the dog in, the Vet said that the animal was fine, just being moody or something. The guy goes home, dog gets worse, he calls the Vet and the vet repeats the same old line about the dog's fine.
Canadian insists he come in and get X-rays done. They do, the Vet grumbling the whole way and they see cancer. The Vet says essentially that they need to put the dog to sleep. The Canadian goes ballistic on him, leaves and brings the dog to the U.S. Gets vets here who start the dog on treatment.
Long story short, the dog ends up not getting better but at least the owner gave him a chance.
Sad story, but especially eye opening about the Canadian Vets. I guess what I've heard about Canadian Doctors applies to Veterinary Doctors also.
On a happier note, the score at Skeet was Flash, 24, Canadian 23. OTOH, he shot low gun and I didn't.
