I'm not a lot of help but it appears to be a Stevens 311. That might get you into the right direction.
Ward's Western Field help

New to the form, found it searching for help. My son was handed down a Ward's Western Field Model 52-SB311-TA from his grandfather. Was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the trigger guard so it can be refinished? Single screw on rear of guard but the front looks like it's pressed in? Any help would be appreciated.
