value of winchester 1300 coastal marine defender?

i am looking at buying one of these from a friend of mine. he bought it new and has never been fired. asking price is 400$. seems like a fair price. any thoughts on the value or the gun in general? thanks.

Sounds like a fair deal to me. Price wise you can compare it to a mossberg 500 mariner is equal condition.

I've never owned a 1300 but I've heard nothing but good things.
Nickel plated shotgun designed to resist corrosion from salt water...other than it being shiny as a daggum mirror...what can be wrong?!?!
That thing looks awesome! Never been fired, 400 bucks? I would buy it. I picked this 1300 Defender up at a LGS last year for $275 and added the side saddle and light. I really like it. If that gun had been sitting next to it for $400, I would have spent the extra 125 bucks in a heart beat. If you get it, be sure to post pics.

I have a FN TPS which is a 1300 on steroids...it's built like a brick crapper. I would say that if the regular 1300 is half as stout as my TPS...its still worth the $$.

I just looked up that FN TPS. That thing looks pretty stout. I'd like to get my hands on one. I've not seen one in this neck of the woods.
