I got brave and took the locks off my Thomas W. Perkes. Even better is the lock maker is stamped in them as Stanton & Son. They look good to me for being made sometime in the late 1870’s to early 1880’s.
Stanton was a well known and excellent lock maker used by many gun makers. I had some rebounding ones from Stanton on a fine old hammer gun. I would clean them up good with some mineral spirits and lube properly and they should provide you years more of service. Congratulations!
