One of the things I miss since I left Alaska. The sled dog race's 50th year. Almost 1,000 miles long.

At least there was enough snow to have the race this year. There's been several times in the 10 years or so where the snow pack has been pretty thin.
The story of how the race started is pretty interesting. Some really brave guys and hardy teams made the original run.
Remember, "Unless you're the lead dog the view never changes."
