That one pictured is not for the average joe. Must be LE or have a stamp for that baby.

They are nice and I have one on my list too.

OS
We have one for sale (sold two already) where I work. A friend of mine met me at the range today and I got to shoot his Saiga 12. It is pretty dang nice! Its supposed to be one of the best auto shotguns out there too.

Why do you use this term? Do you think the SBS sends off psychic waves that makes it's owner just want to go out and 'assault' people with it?

They're made by Tromix. Get yourself a Saiga 12 and an approved ATF form 1, and they can build one for you around 2011.

When I used the "term" you mentioned, I was merely expressing my thought that I think it looked sharp, powerful, and SEXYYYY!
Shortened barrel, "converted" (Trigger and fire control group moved forward), pistol grip and collapsing stock, AK style low-height side sight mount with a red-dot sight, and a flash suppressor. Either a 10 or 12 round magazine on it. (Look cooler with the 20 or 30 round drums)

Gnifty, but why would you need a tax stamp on it?

Barrel under 18" NFA item, SBS.
Bah. So keep a 18" barrel and avoid the tax.
I liked them better when CDNN was closing them out for $249 a few years ago.

IMO, I much prefer my SBS over the 19" standard. The tax stamp isn't a big deal...people make a bigger deal then it really is because the gobermint already has all of my information.

Tony aka Tromix isn't the only game in town, but he's the best game in town. The wait to do the conversion takes a while, so the wait for the approval on the Form 4 shouldn't be that tough.

I haven't even shot my S17, yet...perhaps someday I'll shoot it.

Very nice weapon, for what it was designed for.
I wish we could have detachable magazine fed shotguns here in the communist state of Cali. I would get one in a heartbeat.
I have one. It's the cats ass.......

did you do the stock conversion? If so where did the stock and grip come from?
Thanks

Well, if you can operate a screwdriver, there's 3 screws holding the factory stock in place (it's not really a conversion, because nothing is being internally converted).

Tapco sells all kinds of crap, including that stock, which is a direct replacement for the factory stock (no mods needed).

Better to do a real conversion, and get the balance and ergos back that were designed into the Kalashnikov in the first place. You'll spend the same or less as you would on that "no-mods" stock.

in that picture he just had one of the drop in stocks. he didnt actually convert it. buuuut the conversion is easy enough to do.
