Pistol grip buttstock and front bead sighting

Anyone have any experience with any pistol grip buttstocks that keep the factory 870 stock drop angle so I can properly align my front bead sight? The only stock my local shop has for me to try is the knoxx recoil buffering stock and I can't use the front bead without contorting my neck. The angle of the stock is almost parallel with the receiver. The only one that looks promising online is the ATI stock with the additional drop spacer. I wish I could try stuff out before buying....

what about getting a pistol grip buttstock that has or accepts a buffer tube and then buying a separate stock with an adjustable cheek piece?

The tapco T6 butstock on my Saiga 12 didn't line up right for me, so I put a gl-shock from Mako on the buffer tube. Lines up fine now.
I've always found Speedfeeds work well.
You mean something like this?

Tactical Stock Adapter For Remington 870 Rem. 870 Tactical Stock Adapter - Tactical Components, Llc.

Then just buy any old M4 style stock? I didn't even know you could get an adapter separately. Thanks!

^^ saw that but it's butt ass ugly
Why not remington's shur shot stock?

Not quite a thumbhole, not quite pistol grip, best of both worlds. I love it, I put on on my deer gun. I think it's better than the ATI by far, never had the opportunity to try a knoxx or any others. Just looking at them, I think this is better. Found mine @ Dunhams for $60.

I could be wrong, but there should be a drop spacer or some type of shim for the Knoxx, my buddy has one and we still can shoot clays with his 870. I have the ATI for my mossy. Its not the best, but I figured for a home defence gun, it works just fine. My arms will be in pain some what after a 3in mag, but it handles everything else fine. Do get the ATI drop spacer if you get the stock.
this is the one i got for my 870. i love it and have no complaints.

LOL... Oh well...
You only said you wanted the drop and that you had already seen the knox w/o the drop. You didn't mention anything about a beauty requirement. ;)

You should look at black hawk. They have some really good aftermarket stocks, some of which have a recoil reduction feature. I would not use that with anything but a pump action, however.
knoxx got a bad reputation over on shotgun world. before the buyout by blackhawk, they outsourced alot to other locations and quality suffered. I dont know if quality has improved or if there is an inherent flaw in the design.
I think Im gonna get a speed feed stock this spring for my field gun.
I had a tapco stock on my 870 and it was ok (built ok but not amazing).

It had a pretty decent shooting position...not as nice as the FN TPS I now own but good enough...If I kept the 870 I was going to go with a speedfeed III stock...
