Remington 870 Express Magnum or Mossberg 590?

I have the 870. The main difference is the location of the safeties. That and, personally, I think there's more accessories for the 870.

Prices?? I prefer the 870 but I have two and all my parts are interchangeable so if something breaks I've got another one in the meantime.

I would like to try and say under the $600 mark if possible. What accessories do you recommend for the 870?

It really depends on the use of the weapon. On my "tactical" 870 aka zombie gun aka hd gun I have a light and a collapsable stock with a Shotshell holder on it. But the 870 wingmaster is stock accept a slip on Shotshell holder. Nothing is needed to make it a great gun.

If you're going to put a pistol grip stock on it, 870; if you're going with a traditional stock, 590. Beyond that, they're both solid pump shotguns...personally, I own both.

As another poster questioned, what is the purpose of the gun? Since you mentioned the 590 which is in the special purpose defense category, look at the reviews for both guns for that purpose. There are several good video reviews on YouTube. Nutnfancy has a three part shotgun review. There is an almost infinite number of combinations of sights, stocks, barrel lengths, magazine capacities, finishes, and after market accessories. Have fun putting it all together.
