Picked up a new Remington 870 Express Tactical a couple weeks ago. Added Magpul Furniture to it, and had an opportunity to take it out to the desert this afternoon.

Still from the youtube video being uploaded:

Another still for those of you who enjoy a bit of fire.

Here's the video I am uploading. It runs a bit long, but bear with me because some folks have asked about the chest rig I have, and I figured it'd be as good a time as any to discuss it. The video is processing as I type this, so the video should be available in an hour or so after writing. As you can see from the video, I'm better than some, not as good as others, and like everybody in this world, need to train constantly. As of this video, I haven't fired a shotgun in over a year, so even though I'm a bit rusty, I still feel comfortable.

nice lookin' boom stick!

my next 870 will be one just like that I'm thinking.
just a side note, I wouldn't recommend shooting at steelies with buckshot or slugs. Had a buddy put a chunk of a slug into his leg that missed his femoral artery by millimeters, a sliver came straight back.

generally, the splash goes 90' but with that low velocity, I don't shoot steel with shotguns unless it's far away!
Hi aa1911. I'm from Washington. Whereabouts?

As for the steel plate, it doesn't point right back at me. It is angled so that the splash goes down toward the base, away from the shooter. The guy who built it for me designed it that way. In either case, I was pretty far away, and not perpendicular to the target. You can also see, in the video, that the splash spreads out around the base as the pellets hit the ground.
