Saw one of these in WalMart today. It had an 18.5 inch barrel, and cost $160 dollars. Don't think I can pass that up. I think I'll swing by sometime this week and pick it up.

Questions-

1. I'm looking online for some aftermarket stuff - rear pistol grip, forend grip. I notice a distinct absence of such items for the Pardner, yet there are an abundance of such things for Mossberg 500 and Remington 870. I've read that 870 aftermarket parts work on the NEF, but want to confirm this before I buy.

2. Some of the grips and forends I'd like are listed as 12 gauge. Can they also work on 20 gauge or do I need to look for specific 20 gauge designated items?

3. How does 20 gauge stack up to 12 gauge as a home defense round? Can it get the job done?

NEF is a solid shooter for sure and I pretty sure most stocks do swap over but cant speak of the forend. 20 can and will get it done but nothing beats a 12. If your that concerned about it look into the Maverick 88 as it runs around the same in price and in 12ga and you can use everything Mossberg except Forends.( you can with some modifications.)

I bought the HR pardner pump protector, the 18 1/2" version. It is a 12 guage and was $160 at cheaper than dirt. Why not just get the 12 guage? The 870 furniture will go on the pardner, now i'm not sure about the 870 stuff fitting on the 20 guage.

http://www.a2zoutdoors.com/h&r_accessories.htm <-these have some 20ga specific items...it appears 410-12ga will fit em all

Since its not a massive common platform...might have difficulty making "tacticool" accessories a bear to find

A 20ga 00buck should be almost as effective as stopping a badguy as a 12ga...minus maybe 2 or 3 pellets but MUCH more controllable (especially for smaller statue folks)
