mavericks and the new synthetic mossberg 500's have two bars that go across the forend which makes it unable to be switched out for a different one.
hey out of curiosity does your 88 have two screws on top of the reciever? I want to mount a rail there too.Yep its true. I bought the knoxx stock kit for my 20" maverick, but could only switch out the buttstock, which I knew beforehand. Its a good gun for the money, although the action is not nearly as slick as say an 870
? ? ? My new synthetic mossberg 500 is absolutely no trouble to change forends on. Maybe mine was an odd one idk I don't keep track of these things. Oh well I just switched it to wood anyway what do I caremavericks and the new synthetic mossberg 500's have two bars that go across the forend which makes it unable to be switched out for a different one.
huh, i read somewhere that the new synthetic 500's were using the same forend configuration as the maverick's. maybe i heard wrong.? ? ? So just replace the forend with a mossberg 500 action tube slide assembly? Considering the mossberg 500/persuader is 100 more this seems like a more economically viable option. You can replace the forend with a Mossberg 500 action tube slide assembly, then use any mossberg forend you want.My little brother bought a mav 88 from a guy who jolly rigged a pistol grip forend on it with rivets...needless to say it snapped off,so we have to wait until he can afford the $40+ part.
Yep,just get the slide tube assembly and a slide tube nut (like 5-7$)and your good to go for any mossberg 500 aftermarket forend. So just replace the forend with a mossberg 500 action tube slide assembly?
