Anyone into Mossberg bolt actions?
I've got a 183KE .410 2 shot repeater with C-Lect choke. And an 85B 20 ga w/detachable box magazine. Unfortuately Bubba took a hacksaw to the muzzle of the 85, cutting off the threads for the interchangable chokes and now it's a cylinder bore. Still a good barnyard gun though.

My first shotgun was a Mossberg 12 ga bolt action I bought for $15 when I was in the 10th grade. That would have been 48 years ago.
Wish I still had it.:(

I've got an old .410 single shot; model number escapes me...

I am fond of it.
I like .410's for varmint duty here on our little farm. I put a sling on my NEF single shot so I could carry tools and it at the same time. Nothing is worse than working out in the pasture, seeing a diamondback rattler (if they stay in the woods I leave 'em alone) and having to run back to the house to get a weapon.

I have a Mossberg model 190 in 16 gauge that I bought from a friend of mine, when I got it the stock had been broke it two at the grip so I drilled a hole on both sides and epoxied a bolt in it and glued the stock back together. the brake fit together good with a lot of surface area for the epoxy, it is a very strong glue joint but you could see it so I gave it a spray bomb camo job and left the rest as it was.

It did not have a mag so I got a repop from Numrich and had to fix it so it would work [a couple of small TIG welds].
It has a C-Lect choke and muzzle brake slots but it still kicks like a mule.

I need a little help w/ my 183d-d I just got. Before I shot it thought I better take it apart, clean and inspect it. In good shape. After reassembly bolt and trigger working well. Loaded and I cant pull the bolt back to eject the first shell. Pulled the barrell off the stock and removed the magazine. The bolt will come back about half inch and the extractor has hold of the shell. Can't tell what it's hanging on.

My first bird gun was an H&R 16 gauge bolt gun with a Ploy choke that set me back $15 off the used gun rack. Got me my first pheasant and a lot of rabbits. Okay, not a Mossberg, but basically the same, other than the name.
Interesting! I finally brought home my H&R Model 120 bolt action 16 ga, tube magazine fed, fixed choke, made in 1941. Total price, with tax, $99.

in need of a mossberg 20ga. model 85b shotgun stock. also looking for any older mossberg shotguns pre 1950
Numrich does not have much at all for Model 85's.
You could google Havlin Sales and Service, they are the old Mossberg guru's and also operate the Mossberg collectors club which puts out newsletters with buy/sell notices.
I have several old Mossberg 22 rifles as well.:)
