idk if the pics are working so let me know?
See thats the thing everything is interchangeable except for the forend. According to what i understand from mossberg and my own research is that the 88 has like a dual action slide, where the mossberg has a single. So in order to swap the forend you have to buy what i mentioned above. All other parts should be interchangeable.A maverick 88 is basically a cheaper mossberg 500. Parts are interchangeable.
They are doing it because its cheaper. Your action bars are molded into the plastic. simple injection mold process.I called mossberg and they told me in order to swap out I have to buy the action slide with nut and new forend.. They said the new mossberg 500 uses the same forend ass the maverick 88. that doesn't make sense to me. Why would they do such a thing. On my 500 I don't think I can simply pull off the forend and buy a new one I think I need to purchase all I mentioned?
My maverick has dual action bar and a 7-1/2" slide tube. there is also an 8-3/4" I believe (or maybe its 6-3/4")See thats the thing everything is interchangeable except for the forend. What i still dont get is i bought a brand new in box mossberg 500 and it came with the maverick 88 style forend and i dont get why. I think the lady at mossberg was trying to tell me that the new bass model mossberg 500 will be coming like that from here on out... If so that sucks!!
