Thanks guys for all the feedback, here are some pics of My 500, I currently do have the pistol grip as I will shoot first then with the buttstock. Forgot to to include the xd family in the pic, also the paracord bracelets I just got in the mail yesturday from billdogg here, again thanks!! I may end up putting the normal stock on after I come back from the range as I did on my Maverick 88. Plan to add maybe a barrel mount light and thats it.

Just picked mine up yesturday, Mossberg 500, 18.5 barrel and love it!! Came standard with normal stock and pistol grip, heatshield out the box. Paid $389.00 out the door, I knoe seem a little steep but Im not a fan of ordering guns online and could have got it about 50 dollars cheaper. FFL fee prob would came out to the same online. Its 5+1 chambered

Will post some pics when I get home, hmmm whats the first thing I wanna add to this?? Side Saddle, top rail??

Yep, had me a 500 persuader once. Get you a real nice limbsaver or whatever recoil pad is the best these days. Besides that there really isn't much more, maybe a flashlight attachment. A defense shotty is best served in the KISS style. And the safety on Mossy's is in a real weird spot for pistol grips

Go to Amazon and type in "Streamlight flashlight". Scroll down and find the Streamlight 88850 Polytac LED flashlight. Check the reviews. I use it on my shotguns. Great light. I would post pic and link but not enough posts yet to be able to do that.

I've had a Mossberg Crusier for 15+ years and my advice would leave the rifle stock on, and add a light/laser light combo. That's it. Some SG owners try to make SG's so tactical they become impractical, for real world HD. Keeping it simple for HD is always the best way.

Ditto to what everyone else has said, leave the buttstock on it. Contrary to the movies, you still need to aim your shotgun to hit your target (they don't hit everything in the room with one shot). Aiming with a pistol grip would be rather difficult.

The first thing you want to do is put the stock on it, and leave the stock on it.

A pistol grip without a buttstock offers no improvements and many detriments to a fighting shotgun.
Even more so on the Mossbergs with the tang safety.

I like being able to thumb my safety on and off as I shoulder the weapon.
