Just traded a friend of mine a 10 year old bow which I don't use anymore for a Mossberg 5500. Does anybody know anything about these shotguns, and if so are there any compatible barrels/accessories I can use on it? Any information would be awesome thanks guys.

I don't have one or I'd give an opinion.....

I do have a friend who came across one as well. He's doesn't use the internet so I found a manual for him. Not sure if it will help you but here it is http://www.mossbergcollectors.org/5500.pdf

I called him, he says in total he has only run between 200-300 shells through it, but he likes it and hasn't had any problems. He hasn't looked at additional barrels or anything else for it.

there are almost a limitless amount of accessory combinations you can put on your 500...some of the brands are ATI, Knoxx, Tac Star,mesa...just do a little Google work and you'll be surprised...it all just depends on what youre going for as far as look/feel of the weapon

The 5500 is different from the 500. The 5500 is the semi-auto version of the 500 pump action. I've tried looking around a bit and there doesn't seem to be much info on them.....your local gun shop may be your best bet. A lot of times they can get stuff for you that you can't see doing internet searches.

K thanks I traded an old bow for it and it seemed like a good trade on my end, but I know nothing about the 5500. If it were a 930-935 that would be great, but being a 5500 there isn't much info at all out there on the internet.

Sounds like a good shotgun to me. But then again, I've always had good shootin' Mossbergs.
