JC Higgins model 20 extended mag

So, after doing quite a bit of searching online, I cannot find an extended mag for my JC Higgins model 20. This doesn't come as much of a surprise seeing as this particular shotgun hasn't been manufactured in...i don't know...30 or 40 years I guess. Anyway, I saw one source online that said that a Mossberg extended mag might fit it. Is there anyone that can confirm this? If not, can I weld on a piece of steel pipe to make my own extension? I know it might not be pretty but I'm more concerned with function than aesthetics. I would appreciate any insight. Thanks.

The JC Higgins brand was made by various manufacturers and distributed by stores such as Sears and Western Auto. Standard Arms made a bunch of them. I have a JC Higgins .22 semi-auto rifle that I love to shoot. Was made in 1963. Any way, it is going to be hard to find an extended mag for one if not impossible. I think I would buy another gun with current mods available.
Best find a good deal on a Mossberg 500. Big 5 has sales..
I have no idea if a Mossberg extension will work or not but the J.C. Higgins model 20 is a High Standard model 200. I have my Grandpa's model 20 and love it the way it is. If you need a home defense gun with an extended magazine check out the Mossberg 590A1 in the nine shot (8+1) configuration. It may be cheaper than having the J.C. Higgins adapted.

Yes- I meant High Standard when I posted. Not just Standard. Sorry:)
