My shotgun is my go to gun for almost everything gun related. I like my pistols and rifles, but I love my pump gun.

I carried a M16/M4 for almost 23 years and have a lot of respect for them but the feel of my shotty is so natural to me.

I just had to vent my love for my 73 caliber friend in a shotgun friendly forum.

Heck, I even get excited when I see a new box of shells!

If it goes bang I love it but there is something about a pump or a sweet double barrel with hammers. (or not) Something about a double gets me going. But jacking a round into my 870 or 500 gets the blood pumping pretty good too.

Yep, the kashuck-kashuck sound is hard to beat. We shoot international rules for a couple weeks at the trap leage, which lets you shoot two rounds at each clay. It's fun to shoot the clay, rack it, and shoot the largest remaining chunk of clay (assuming you didn't miss it the first time ). I was only a rifle guy till recently. I still like my rifles, but I'm really digging my shotty.

I'm a shotgun man myself. All of mine are plain guns bought used (you can have more for the money that way)
On a quiet morning I like to go woods walking with one of my single shots in my hand and a single action revolver on my hip.
I've also got a chair out in our woodlot where I can just sit and enjoy the world. With a shotgun of some type handy, of course.

I too love the shotgun. There is nothing like the sound of a good pump. I am excited to try trap shooting--something I have yet to do.
