Howdy. I live in Georgia and will be moving to Ohio in the next year. Two great states. I'm 54 years old and have been shooting since I was 17. I've owned a number of shotguns over the years including a Franchi Law 12, some pumps, and a Saiga 20. I've owned a few other shotguns on and off over the years.
A few years back when my wife was under a death threat, and despite the fact we were under 24 hour protection, and not having a shotgun, and despite owning many rifles and handguns, the first thing that I did was go out and buy a 12 gauge Maverick pump shotgun to keep ready to go on top of my dresser in my bedroom. I guess when the threat is very real and you have time to plan you get a good idea of what you really value in terms of self-defense. Once the threat was neutralized I ended up selling the Maverick for just about what I had into it.
A few weeks ago, not owning one, I got the hankering to own a shotgun again so I ended up snagging a Stevens 320 Security with ghost rings sights. I'm pretty impressed. I can tell that this won't be my last shotgun but I won't be getting away so cheap in the future. My tastes have always ran to Benelli and Wilson Combat...or Browning A5.
See you around the forum.
