For the most part, I use the swing through method. Incomers on 1, 2, 6, and 7, I use a sustained lead. Incomers on 3 and 5 is somewhat a sustained lead, but I always try and get incomers by/at the center stake. Just be sure to not try and hold any sustained lead for too long. More time for mistakes to happen. High 5 has cost me more than any target on the field. It once cost me a 250 X 250 in San Antonio...
Wayne Mayes espoused the sustained lead philosophy and you cannot argue with his success, but I could never pull it off for all targets. I was lucky enough to shoot a .410 event with him once in the early 90's. RIP
Consistency is the key no matter what method(s) you choose. More misses happen between the ears than anywhere else.
Poorly at best! I most generally shoot sustained lead, but have been told I've been coming from behind a lot. It is all between the ears, you got to be consistent no matter what you do.
