Hogue overmold forend questions...

1024 Views 7 Replies 1 Participant Last post by  ShotgunPro
If I have a Tacstar 6 shot side saddle on my Mossy500 and question if the overmolded Hogue will work??? I always have liked the way the extended fore end feels as my arm isn't as extended as far as with the stock Mossberg piece (and this has bothered me for a long time). So will the larger Hogue hit the side saddle because it comes so much further back on the rear pump movement???? Hope all this makes sense. Or are there any other suggestions? I could remove the front of the side saddle and make it a 5 shot unit instead.... that'd kinda be drastic surgery.

Yup. I have a 500 with both the Hugue OM stock and the Tac6 Side Saddle.

I assume everything works fine? no interference?
I'm confused... the forend looks like the stock Mossberg piece???
While not on my 500, I have it on my 590A1 (basically identical as far as forend to receiver dimensions), and it works just fine.

In fact, at full rack to the rear, there is a good 3/4 of an inch worth of clearance between the back of the forend/front of the side saddle.

Sorry. Wrong pic. The bottom one has a Hogue handguard on it now. As SmokinXD indicated, there is plenty of space between the handguard and the side saddle.
