Overall I think it's a great boomstick. Granted it's no $1000 Benelli as there are a couple small spurs and the seams on the polymer pieces are pretty pronounced...but hey it's a $350 gun. It won't win any beauty contests but that's why I like it. Simple, easy to use, easy to maintain, reliable. I plan to "zombify" it. Don't need it for HD, just want to have fun customizing it and shooting it.

BTW, I recently noticed something about my 870. The images shown on remington.com and other pics I've seen show my model with a longer forend that overlaps the receiver when slid back. MY 870 however has the same shorter forend the Tactical models have. (Check out my pic compared to Remington's stock pic)

I'm actually VERY happy about this. Now I won't have to modify anything to fit the shell saddle I want.
Then you'll appreciate my 870 "Zombmaster"...
Old 870 Wingmaster that I chopped down and added Scattergun Tech +2 tube and an XS 24/7 Big Dot front bead. Pretty much everything I think a shotty needs, nothing it doesn't.
ETA--Ocean82--if you're looking at putting ghost ring sights on yours, I highly recommend Scattergun/Wilson Trak-Lok sights. Fairly easy to install, and work great. Several of my buddies run with them, never had a problem.

Here's mine. Remington Express 12 gauge with a 3" chamber.
I love the walnut stock. It looks good and works just fine. I have no plans to do anything else to it either. Also shown is the stock 26" barrel, factory magazine components and screw in full choke. I have those for hunting and shooting clays.
At some point I may buy a rifled barrel and some sights, but thats about it.

The only thing I did differently to mine was put on a aftemarket Eotech on it instead of the trigicon sights.
