Father just gave me this shotgun for me to enjoy, his health is failing him and he wanted me to have it and enjoy.

So far I leaned it's a Sportsman stamped on bolt,
US with ordnance bomb on barrel and frame.
Date stamp is WMM so August 1943 model.

It's damn near mint condition (thanks Dad) .

So what would current vakue/appraisal be on this ....and should I fire it?
Bore is perfect .

Thanks for any input.

Why do people want too know the value of an heirloom or gift  the price or sentiment isn't right ??.

The price of any firearm is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it at any given time and hopefully dependent upon it's condition :)

Looks good. In my experience the ordnance marked shotguns bring double, sometimes three times as much as a comparable regular shotgun of the same make and condition. Use it, and dont modify it. Clean and lube.
