Hi all,
new here. My dad left me a few shotguns and I am trying to identify this 16 gauge merkel. it has straight stock, beavertail forearm and auto ejectors... here are a bunch of pics. I have no clue what model it is or what it may be worth but I can't imagine a lot as my dad was a hunter and trader and didn't have a lot of free cash lol.
Thanks for any replies!!

Welcome to the forum! Stick around and have some fun!
That Merkel is likely worth a bit more than you think. As 1oz noted, it is not a 16ga, the barrels are marked as a 20ga - but in today's market, that seems to increase it's value. The gun looks like a Model 8 but they were extractor guns, not ejectors, so it is likely a 47E.

Model 147E.....made in 1991.....a step above the 47E......the 47 has case colored receiver with little engraving.....147 has a coin silver receiver with game scene engraving.....
