I quit duck hunting years ago, it got to expensive, and I just lost interest in it.

I used to duck hunt, but shifted over to upland quite a while ago. It's warmer.

I do miss Duck hunting, though.

 

I still hunt but not as much as I did when I was younger & not on the badass days as years past-I'm not real hip on those cold arse days! I still like eating them though! 😉

 

It runs deep in this old, overworked body. I no longer hunt in HEAVY rain or in temps below 10 degrees. I can't endure the uneven ground in small and big game hunting, so sitting in my duck boat waiting for the birds to decoy is what I do until the marsh freezes over enough that my boat can't break it. Then, it's hook up the RV and go to Texas until spring ice off on my local lakes.

 

I used to go out every weekend and any days that I could sneak out of school or work. The landowner that let me hunt passed away and the new owners had issues.
My steel loads may be rusty slugs now.

 

Five days to go and counting. Life is good.

 

There's some good duck hunting forums out there. I won't directly promote them because I'd imagine it's against the rules, but you can definitely find them if you look.

 

I just ordered a new call (RMC 410) as guys were saying how nice this call was. To tell the truth and I hope stumpjumper won’t see this I have a hard time running his CWF calls- I cut the reed a bit (shorten it very little) and now I can run it like a pro.
Stump is very defensive about his calls, but just cause he can run them doesn’t mean everyone can especially a 70 year old man! I had to trim my RNTs, too! Besides once it leaves his place it’s MY call!
