I have been hearing a lot lately about the Pardner Protector. The local gunshop got a .20 ga. new on the rack and I had a chance to look at it today. I actually liked the fairly short pump action it has and the fell of it. It has a removable choke and for the money seems like a nice little gun. Don`t care for the finish but it would make a handy truck gun for overall use. Anyone else have any feed back on these , esp. the .20 ga?

I have one in 12 ga. The finish sucks, but the action is sound. It's a middleweight and does have a little kick. The 12 ga. is chambered for 3" mags, too. It's a good gun for the price and best of all, all the 870 accessories fit it except for barrels.

Thanks Keltyke, good to hear 870 accessories swap. I have 2 870`s and might do some changing up. Anybody else have a comment?

I have the 20 gauge Pardner Pump compact that I use for HD, and really like it. Same action as the Protector, only with a 21" barrel instead of 18.5". I wanted something my wife would feel comfortable using, too, so I thought the youth model was a nice compromise. It shoots well, but when I first bought it it had problems occasionally not wanting to release shells from the magazine when pumped. The left side shell catch was stiff, but shooting it a lot smoothed it out and it feeds reliably now. Finish isn't great, but it seems really well-made. I have the 12 gauge pump with the 28" barrel as well, and like it very much.
