Flare fun

Has anybody tried to shoot any of the 12 ga. emergency flares through their shotgun? I glanced at some at wallyworld the other day but didn't get to examine them as my girlfriend was rushing me over to the toy section. Just passing by they looked like they would shoot, though they are quiet short. Look like they could be good for some fun. Any thoughts?

I found a thread from another forum. Apparently you're big trouble if it gets stuck in your barrel.

Flare cartridges in Shotguns
Yikes! Oh well I'll have to find a new way to piss of the neighbors. Thanks for the info
Why dont you just buy a flare gun and shoot it? Like this one:

hhahaha.. your neighbor will be freaked out when you pull that sucker out. All you gotta say is, "I'll be back"

I like the look of that:cool: Anymore pictures?
Haha that's wicked. The neighbor in question moved onto my road recently. Basically there are 2 families on the road, both families are active shooters and motorcycle/atv enthusiasts. So this guy buys a long track of land running the length of our valley behind all the houses, and starts a buffalo farm. Now there is no hunting allowed, a no tresspassing sign every 6 feet for over 2 miles (even on near vertical mountainside), and he has a hissy over every noise louder than a fart on the road because "it upsets the buffalo". They also raise poodle's with the nasty habit of attacking walkers and motorcyclists. So I enjoy finding every way I can to piss the old coot off. My uncle's now got a 3" bore cannon for the occasion:D
Spikes Tactical has a nice flare gun for 37mm, with adapters available for the 12 ga. Either a standalone launcher or a rail mount for your AR - kinda looks like a grenade launcher.
Yes, get the 37mm Havoc and post a review!
I'd be afraid to use a flare in a shotgun... Like my Dad always said: There's a tool for everything, so don't use a tool improperly.
RedBaron is dealing with what we call here "Carpetbagger Anxiety"

it's when someone from an urban area, or suburbs, moves to a rural area, and whines like a lil' beeyatch over country living. Hence "Carpetbagger Anxiety", his neighbor is anxious, and cannot understand why the country isn't "quiet". (rolls eyes)

Ain't NO WHERE quiet! It's just "different sounds".
get some bird bombs for your 12 gage it will drive them nuts as they are almost silent when there shot but put a M-80 out about 100 yds before going off.

The Havoc is a Spikes Tactical product. www.spikestactical.com

Under the product categories on the left, click on 37mm.
hmmm... bird bombs... this is interesting.
I've never tried firing flares in a shotgun. I did a bit of reading on it and is sounds like the Olin flares that come with the 12 ga flare pistol do not fit in a 12 ga shotgun. But there are some 12 ga flare rounds that can be fired in shotguns.

As for scaring the neighbors, Tannerite is the way to go. Put it out 300 yards away from you and plink away with a .30-06. You'll wake up the whole valley.
I shot some today out of a Mossberg 500 with a modified choke. It was fun, so then I went and bought the flare launcher it's made for. The recoil is nothing, but much more than i would of expected.
