Going on a dove hunt tomorrow (Saturday)! Pretty stoked about it despite the windy weather from Hurricane Sandy. Will update with results later....

The dove hunt yesterday was pretty tough. Conditions made for challenging shooting - winds were 25mph+ and birds were few. When they did appear they were flying with wind and streaking past real low. Beyond my limited abilities! I had a few opportunities but couldn't get the lead right and missed. Took 4 boxes of shells (ever the optimist) and shot maybe half a box. Had some fun though! It was a nice way to spend the day - had my son with me and another friend and the afternoon passed with good conversation and the anticipation of what might appear.

Always a good time out in the field!

sorry to hear about the results, but that still definitely counts as quality time.

Yep. I agree. I have been on some dove hunts down in South Texas when the wind was high. The doves do get faster with the wind.Man, they go steaking by. I got 2 doves out of 18 shots one time LOL. Wind would blow the hat off your head.

In Utah, most times the morning doves have been driven out by a frost, and shooting times are over just about the time they start flocking into water,, Going to Argentina this year, Best G
