Do You Consider Your Guerini To Be A High End Shotgun?

Where does your Guerini rank among your shotguns?
I mean performance wise and not dollar wise.
Do you feel it’s a lesser gun to the P&K guns or does yours equal or exceed them?

Flash, have any of your shooting buddies who shoot P guns have any ribs that loosened? I am just curious because since you live in AZ, where the temperatures can reach the level of that measured on the hinges to Hades; it would be a ideal climate for such an issue to surface.

I have a close shooting friend who had an early Mirage and his ribs did loosen twice, but I am thinking may P fixed that soft solder issue on later models? Just curious.

I bring this up in this thread because loosened ribs has often been a complaint leveled at P shotguns. I don't know how valid it is.

The V spring breakage is not a big deal as it can easily be fixed or changed out with a seperate trigger assembly.

I've got 2 P guns, and 5 other guys I know who are friends also shoot P guns. Most of them have 2 apiece. None of them have ever had ribs that loosened so perhaps that's just another internet rumor? It does get hot here, and during the summer months I wear a glove on my left hand to keep from getting it burned when opening the shotgun to eject fired hulls. It gets that hot.

And with respect to the V spring thing, I believe I posted this before, but I'll do it again. I got my first P gun in 1974 and 100 rounds later, the V spring for the top barrel broke. I replaced it and decided that was a weak area, so I bought 2 spares for the top barrel and 2 spares for the bottom barrel.

I've still got those 4 spares in my parts box (knock on wood). I have seen one of my friends break a V spring, though, around 2 years ago. He carried a spare trigger assembly and just switched triggers and replaced the V spring when he got home.

As I thought, the loose rib issue has either been ameliorated by P on later models, or it's hype from copycat keyboard warriors. Thanks.

Finally, is P now owned by the huge conglomerate known as Beretta now? Or is that another rumor?

That's another rumor or myth, whichever you prefer.

Here's who owns it: Perazzi shotguns are now majority-owned by the Czech company Czechoslovak Group (CSG), which acquired an 80% stake in the Italian manufacturer Armi Perazzi in December 2023. The Perazzi family, led by founder Daniele Perazzi's children Mauro and Roberta Perazzi, retains the remaining 20% stake and continues to run the company with the current management team.

I recently purchased a used Zoli. It was a bucket list gun for me. I never warmed to the P or K but when I first held a Zoli I knew it was special.
I am having my stock guy cut an adjustable comb for it and won’t have it for a couple weeks.
So today I took my Summit out to the range and it reminded me why I bought it.
I shot Skeet, Trap sporting practice on the skeet field, reverse doubles only..
It felt so composed and moved so smooth and that trigger is really special.
I just never thought they got a fair shake with detractors saying it was all about pit stops and engraving overlooking the gun itself.
I have owned a lot of Beretta’s and Browning’s and they don’t hold a candle to that Summit IMO.

Yes I am in a place I never thought I would be in 10 years ago.
I have gotten into spats with a member on SGW who hates Guerini’s and thinks Perazzi’s and Krieghoff’s are from The Lord’s workshop. In fact he is at it again over there.
But after I think about it awhile I come to the realization that while my Zoli is in the shop having an adjustable comb cut I will be taking my back up to the range. My backup is my new Summit. I had to pinch myself to see if I am dreaming. I remember all the years when all I had was an ancient Citori Trap and an old 870 TB for a back up.
All my friends had nicer and more expensive guns I could not afford. Crazy. And why I go after that guy trashing others equipment all the time.
He lives in a bubble looking down at everyone else thinking himself better.
I think the CG is better than a B gun but B guns will never be trash and if I lost everything tomorrow and was lucky enough to only afford a used Browning or Beretta I would be thrilled.

Where I have seen (on a rare occurrence ) with a Perazzi is when folks were doing fast and furious flurries. I was going to buy a used Perazzi trap combo, but the O/u barrels had loose ribs so I passed
