So my go to shop generally has huge discounts this time of year to clear out inventory before tax time. I stopped in a few minutes after they finished changing the tags.

They had a Mossberg 500 with a ported and choked barrel and a God awful paint scheme. I picked it up along with a pistol grip for $150.

After swapping out the stock and taking a hacksaw to the barrel I attached a mounting solution for a strap on the grip (fancy way of saying I ran a zip tie through the sling loop and taped it down) and hit it with a coat of paint.

I still need to do some file work on the barrel and rib but for 150 bucks and a solid hour worth of work I am pretty pleased.

Thanks, I am pretty glad with how it turned out. I used a hacksaw for the rough cut, a grinder to work it down and then finally a file to finish it off. Probably a bit more work than was really needed considering it's intended use.

That was actually a factory paint job.

I bought one 11 years ago and it was marketed for turkey hunting.

That was well before all the water immersion capabilities came out.

Mine don't look like that anymore either LOL
