Breaking in a New 1100 Remington?

I am about to bring home my New Remington 1100 Tac4. I have read alot of info on forums. I would like to have some opinions at to what type of ammo to break in my new Tac4. I plan on using this gun for home defense and I want to get into competitive shooting with it.

So please offer up some of your thoughts and Ideas, as to what ammo I should try and then rely on.
