I was told to get a "Polychoke" (adjustable, of course) for my new Saiga-12 and that to get the shark teeth one (cosmetic purpose for me obviously). They may be known as the "doorbuster" style. Can't seem to find that style in the Polychoke brand. Any suggestions from owners of the Saiga-12?

Here you go boss. Carolinashootersupply.com is a great resource for saiga gear.

ADJUSTABLE CHOKE SAIGA 12 POLY-CHOKE II BREACHER

*Just a side note, I have a barely used JTE competition brake with breacher teeth and the barrel nut that I am looking to get rid of, if you are ever looking for an amazing brake. Practically removes muzzle flip.

Thanks. Tromix makes a mean looking shark break as well but doesn't appear that it has any adjustable settings. Probably will be going with the Poly from Carolina since I'm planning on getting the MD-20 round drum from them.

Yeah the poly-choke is the only adjustable choke you are going to find for the saiga, although if you are looking for a brake the polychoke is not much of a brake, is really is intended to be a choke. Even though it was the tactical look to it, it has primarily a hunting/sporting functionality. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for qualifying the two.

I called Greg at Carolina Shooters this am and ordered the MD Arms 20 rnd drum, a PolyChoke II Breacher, and a MD Arms (5 setting) gas knob. If it still needs a different spring and puc, I can get it later. At least this sucker is looking good and I can already see where you could spend a bunch of $$$'s on these bad boys.

I've got the Polychoke on mine, I haven't patterned it, but it looks cool and has tightened the groups.

I also run the CSS puck and the Tac-47 autoplug.
Yep, Greg said it literally varies from gun to gun as to wheather or not you need the different spring, etc. or not. I may get the sucker anyway in a few . . .

 I'm not sure what that is. Could you explain?
In order to legally use American parts on an imported rifle like a Saiga 12 you have to modify the gun to have 10 or less counted foreign parts.
The mag counts as 3 foreign parts so by saying he is legal with or without the mag means the gun itself has 7 or less of the ATF's counted parts on the gun itself.

This explains it more.

He hit it on the nose. I've yet to have a person come up and ask to count, but I want to be safe.

Congrats on your new Saiga! Look forward to hearing an update when you've had a chance to try out your poly choke, as I've been looking at them as well. I bought my Saiga 12 last March just as the prices started to sky rocket. So far I've done a basic conversion, but am longing for that MD 20 rd drum! Now that prices have come back down & availability isn't a problem I hope to get one in the near future. Look forward to seeing some pics of yours as you continue "tinkering" on your S12!

Thanks ND. Can't wait to shoot it also and congrats to you for having one as well. My additional goodies came yesterday from Carolina Shooters. The PolyChoke II, I understand, is easy enough to put on. Just unscrew the "stock" and screw on the Poly. The MD five position V-Plug is suppose to also be just a screw on. The MD 20 rnd drum, however, may take a couple of different fine tunings, as stated in MD's on-line video's. It varies from gun to gun they say. Supposedly still not hard to do. As soon as I get those items on, I'll post my pics. Even then though, it'll just look like the other bad boys on here. Btw, if you haven't seen all of the Saiga-12 video's by now, here's one that make me grin everytime I see it. Even though it's a super bad "full" auto" vs. just semi, his expression is priceless . . . :)

That's cool you got your "goodies" already! I likewise bought my conversion parts from CSS & was extremely pleased with how quickly they shipped my order! I placed my order late on a Thursday evening & got my parts on the following Monday! There is so many different ways you can customize/personalize these guns its awesome! I'd like to get the 5 position gas knob too. Also on the Saiga Forum there is a couple of guys that can polish & reprofile the bolt so that it will cycle any ammo, & also makes it easier to insert your mag on a closed bolt. That is probably my next mod (after my drum mag, lol) Anyway I haven't been on the forum for awhile, so when I saw an S12 thread I had to chime in! Good luck with your S12 build!

PS: the guy's reaction in that video is classic! I know I grin from ear to ear when I'm out shooting mine, lol.

I agree. I think that the conversion possibilities are endless too. I have to first see how everything works as is, then possibly go from there. They say the MD 5 position gas knob is a very good mod (on MD Arms site anyway) as well as the PolyChoke II. I like the "polish & reprofile the bolt" mod that you mentioned too. I'll just be glad to shoot it (ha).
