Beretta 686 XT ????

Hi gang I have an opportunity to pick up a Beretta 686 XT 12 gauge for about $900 cash/trade.

I havent been able to find much information on the XT model. It must have been produced for only a short period of time. Does anyone know what the XT stands for?

Does $900 sound like a decent deal? I have not yet seen the gun but the owner is a good friend of mine and he tells me it is a very nice gun with just a few handling marks.
