870 mods
Next week a Remington 870 Express Magnum is coming.
This is going to be for HD.
What mods should I have done?
Ghost ring tritiums, lights, rails, etc...??
I already have a bulk of ammo!

I put on a pistol grip stock (Remington); Mesa Tactical Side Saddle (holds 6); and one point sling attachment.
Going to put on a LPA Ghost ring sight, metal follower, better spring, and better front sight.

a light would be the most important if it's for HD.
Sidesaddle and buttstock shellholder are nice additions also.
I really like the plastic 'hi-vis' mag followers, don't remember what brand but I've got them in all my pump scatterguns.
Also, not the gun itself, but I keep a claymore bag with a bunch of loose buckshot rounds, one side is OO buck, the other is #4 buck. I copied the pouch with cordura and put MOLLLE on th front so I could add a 4 mag pistol magazine pouch plus some shell carriers on the strap. So I've got something like 35 rounds on the gun (with the shell holder sling) and another 50 or so in the bag plus pistol mags.
Yes, the gun is HEAVY with all that ammo attached!
I never really cared about better sights, especially at home defense range but they are certainly nice for out at the range for shooting slugs and longer shots.

Mine: 870 Tactical with 6 shot tube. It came with the XS front sight and XS picatiny rail with a peep sight on it. It also has the breech choke. I added:
Magpul Stock adjusted to 12.75 in LOP
Magpul Fore End with picatiny rail
Magpul Single point sling adapter
Magpul forward sling mount
Streamlight TLR-1
Magpul MS3 sling
Tac-star 6 Shell side saddle

Hogue 12 inch LOP over molded stock
Hogue over molded fore end
Tac-star 6 Shell side saddle
2 point sling
Still planning on getting an XS Big dot tritium sight for hers. Both these guns are great and work perfect for each of us. The 870 is awesome because you can configure it just how you want. I would look at some of the above options and see if they will fit your needs. We went to a store and played with the different 870's they had and found what we liked.
