870 extractor help

I have a 870 and at some point recently my extractor fell out. I have since bought a spring plunger and extractor. How do i put it back it if i put th spring in i cant get the plunger in the hole. Also what actually holds the extractor in theres no pint or anything?

I am having trouble getting the plunger to go in though. Its hard to get into the hole then it gets jammed because it hit the top part where the extractor goes in. Ill try again tomorrow maybe i have to spend more time trying.
