Looks like a pretty good deal to me. I just bought an 870 from a member of the board here, and I'm looking to add a tactical stock and a few other goodies too.

Got mine for basically under $300 ;). But after I add the goodies I'll be a lil' over $400. Don't tell my wife.

I believe you will be very happy with that gun, and if you ever wanted to make a field gun out of it at a later time it is reasonably cheap to do. Have fun
In CA we have a store called Big 5. They sell M500 with a combo barrel kit for 289.
Skimming the site you linked quickly, I'd buy this one:

Mossberg 50577 500SP 12 20 CB 8SH SYN for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $304.00

Then add a hogue youth stock, tacstar sidesaddle and flashlight. You'd be in a bit over $400, but you can start with the gun and get accessories as you can. I hate m4 stocks on shotguns, I think they suck at handling recoil and they put your face really low unless you're using something like a Mesa Tactical stock.

this is a great deal, I have been shopping around for this type shotgun, and this is the cheapest I have seen. I'll be saving the link for later.

I'm with you on this one; for a dedicated HD shotgun, I can't see what an M4-style stock adds to the usefulness...and may actually take away a bit (a bit more difficult to operate the Mossbergs tang safety, a lot more unpleasant to shoot with stouter HD loads--even low recoil buckshot has considerably more snort than a trap load...).

I'd also add a tritium front sight, but that's me.
I went with the 870, put a police walnut stock on it and am very pleased. I don't understand the tactical type stocks on a shotgun.
+1
I have this exact shotgun and it is great. If you want extras, you can add later, but you might find you like it nice and simple.
The Mossberg is FAR more difficult to cycle one into the chamber... The 870 is the way to go...
If it were me, I'd buy this one. I think this is a really fair price.

Remington 870 Express 12g 18" blued, black-synthetic for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $332.00

I have a mossberg 500. I love it, but I've always wanted a tried and true 870. You can get a lot of aftermarket tactical accessories for the 870 also.
I have not used a Remington 870 myself, but I have never had a problem chambering a round in a Mossberg. I think with any shotgun, the action becomes smoother the more you use it.

No shortage of accessories for the 500 either.
Remington 870, Moss 500. Both are great pump action shotguns. There is a reason they've been around forever especially the 870. As roundoff mentioned with these 2 shotguns there is no shortage in mods you can get for these. Both excellent choices for the money.

Horse feces.

I've got both a 500 and an 870...there is no appreciable difference as far as the action goes.

They're both great shotguns, and are both excellent choices in the HD role.

I picked up a new 590 last month and the action was a bit stiff but after a couple of boxes of shells it was a lot smoother to operate.
Awesome guys i appreciate the input!
Noticed some anti-m4 stock comments in here. Has anyone tried the Knoxx SpecOps stock which is suppose to reduce recoil significantly?

Yes I have one on my 870 and I love it. Just make sure to get the Power Pak cheek piece for it. The only drawback of the Knoxx is if you don't use the cheek piece you can get cheek slap. The Power Pak eliminates it.
