Broke a chunk of mine probably from dry-firing too much. Little bit of a challenge because it wasn't predrilled. Plastic hang-on drill fillings had to be removed for the firing pin to slide back and forth smoothly. I was having a problem fitting the locking block assy in the bolt and noticed a very small piece laying loose on the table. The piece is the size of a match-head and goes on the outside of the block assy and has it's on slide inside the bolt. I tried taping it in it's hole but it just fell out. I just assembled everything and put 3-rounds off the back porch and the gun fired great. Can that little piece work it's way out the bolt and jam the action? Thanks guys...

I am trying to replace a worn/broken slide lock buffer on a 1975 Remington 1100 Magnum shotgun. How do I remove the old one? I have searched in detail but can't find an answer to my question. I don't see any pins holding the buffer in the slide lock.
