Anything beyond 2 1/2 hours one way drive time is my limit. Olympia is like 4-5 hours drive time for me.
Cherokee Rose has a shoot this weekend and within easy range. Problem is weather. I can handle the 42 degree high but its going to be breezy. I'll take a walk at 10 AM and assess the situation. If it feels good I'll shoot.

Just rechecked Mapquest and it says 3.5 hours to Valdosta, admittedly I can cut this by a few minutes but still that's longer than I like to drive. Cherokee Rose is having a shoot today and its only an hour drive. I am waiting till 10 AM to make a decision on the weather, the forecast is better with clearing and a high of 56, so far that's not happening where I am at.
In the spirit of compromise, I propose that we make a date in April to shoot at Olympia Bend at one of there events. The weather will be better and I'll be ready for the drive.
Its not that I don't want to shoot, I am in this for the fun and friendship, when the weather and drive time make the sport a chore rather than a pleasure I would rather back off for favorable conditions.
The 10 AM weather check is acceptable, its warmed up a bit and the skies while still overcast is clearing. So I am off for Cherokee Rose, wish me luck!

I was born defective, doubt Zika will do much to 1oz or myself!

Fabulous weather today! I have three choices for grilling, BBQ "kickin chicken", BBQ ribs, or NY strip steak. Sides will be red potatoes and baked beans.
I am leaning toward the steak....
