That second bird is coming to you, so the lead isn't much.
It's also slowed down tremendously. Look where the missed birds impact the ground and you can see they aren't going very fast at all when they're halfway between the center stake and the shooter and coming at you.

OTOH, the closer it gets to the shooter, the smaller the diameter of the shot pattern so it probably equals out.

I just need to shoot a couple of dozen more of them.

One common issue with doubles is barrel rise from first shoot recoil. After breaking the first dip your barrel slightly. Then throw your eyes towards the center stake to pick up the incoming target.

Basics are break the first target 2/3 before the center stake. Dip barrel, look towards the center stake to find the 2nd target. Establish sustain lead. Get the picture and break em all. Donít shoot the fence.

Enjoy. doubles is fun and tells you a lot about how well youíre seeing and breaking the first target single. Youíll be stacking targets in no time.

I find the comment about Barrel rise interesting. I missed some second birds today without really knowing why. That might be the reason. Next week, I'll try to do better. Thank You.
