Think about this:

Around 7 Million new gun owners in 2020.

If they each only bought 2 boxes of ammo, that's 700,000,000 rounds of ammo more than is usually purchased each year. A more realistic figure is probably around 4 boxes of ammo each, for a total of 1,400,000,000 rounds of ammo more than is purchased each year.

That'll eat up the supplies and components in a hurry.

NO product = NO Price
NO pistol No Rifle NO ammo . Limited shotshell on hand

“Primers are not available until further notice”

It's nearly the same message as ALL other wholesalers

My LGS's and shooting ranges all have ammo on hand for sale, but at a higher price than before the insanity started.

So, you can get all you want but not at yesterday's prices, with a few exceptions.

OK and out of those 7 million new owners how many were able to buy shells ?
Of those New owners stop and consider WHAT caliber did they purchase ?
# of 30/06 300 Win mag 9mm .40 .45 , 357 mag etc. 6.5 creedmore ??.

So How many were shotguns all 12 gauge or 20 gauge No .410's or 28 gauge ?.

MY point is simply this ; There ISN'T ANY available ammunition and I don't care what caliber we're speaking of !. ALL reasonable caliber priced ammo is GONE across the entire Country !??. With here and there extortion priced crap or obsolete caliber ( IF one's lucky ) !. Sorry I know ammunition manufacturers are #3 shift 24/7 and producing as quickly as possible in Many if not all plants .

Anyway one slices it ,the USA has and ENORMOUS PROBLEM ,with regards to ammunition supply chain politics investors groups and distribution . PERIOD !.

As I said, there's plenty of ammo in the local gun stores around here, not all of them, but a lot. The ranges all have it for sale in all the popular calibers. Price? Kinda high, but people are paying it. Typically I'm seeing around 80/round for .223/5.56, 50/round for 9MM and a little more for .45 ACP. At the last gun show a couple of weeks ago, there must have been at least 100K rounds of each of the popular calibers for sale, sitting there on pallets.

According to the employees at the LGS/range I shoot at every week, all the new buyers insisted on being able to buy a couple of boxes of shells or more for their new gun purchases or they wouldn't buy the guns and the store accommodated them.

Shotgun range ammo for the clay sports is readily available and seems to run around $8.00/box for the common gauges and .410 bore is around $10.00/box. Clay target shooters are out on the range every week and none of them seem to be making an effort to cut down the amount they're shooting.

In short, it's there if you're willing to look for it and pay for it, otherwise you do without.

Most international stuff is stopped; J&S, CAC, Brownells/Gamaliel and a few others offer wholesale pricing

I've got a guy I shoot with every week that has 10K Cheddite primers on a boat that'll arrive soon. I have no idea how he did that though.
