I have two bunches of 12ga Remington/Peters hulls: some with corrogated sides and some with smooth sides ("Premier STS").

I am using W209 primers.

I loaded up the corrogated shells just fine. But when I went to reload the smooth sided shells the primers would not seat.

The friend from whom I bought the reloading equipment and supplies remembers that there are two different primers sizes but I can only find 209 primers online.

Is that right? Would the same company have two different primer sizes? Or am I doing something else wrong?
You must have a bunch of old hulls originally Remington, Winchester, and CIL all used different primer sizes, some European hulls have smaller primer pockets as well. Depending on the strength of your press you can press the W209 into the smaller primer pockets, once you have fired them, the primers will go in easier the next time you reload them.

The proper bit for drilling out primer pockets is 7/32.

The fix was to run a drill bit of the correct size up there and remove the lip.
Once again, I have forgotten the correct size of the bit, but I do remember it was a number drill, not fractional.

I use a 7/32 bit to ream out primer pockets. Works for me.

If a 7/32 bit works (.2188) so will a #3 bit(.2130)
