Fiocchi primers

Reloading components are about all dried up, esp primers. I have a good supply of Winchester AAHS hulls in 28 and 20 gauge but I'm running low, only 3 k left, of 209 primers. I have a good supply, 7K +, of Fiocchi primers. I know the Fiocchi is a thou or 2 larger than 209's. My question is whether anyone has any experience substituting Fiocchi for 209's. Ignoring the load tables what are the implications? I know, likely a dead end but I have sporting clays winter league thru spring and I'm trying to find a way to have enough shootable ammo to last.
Thx

Ignoring the data is a no-no. Personally, I don't think there is too much risk substituting "normal" strength primers in target loads that are already well below max. Do so at your own risk, obviously. I wouldn't do it in field loads.

I use Winchester 209s but have a case of Rio primers (similar in size to your Fiocchis) to use in the Euro hulls I have and as a back-up supply if I run out of Winchesters. I also have a primer pocket swaging tool so that I can resize primer pockets that have been expanded by using the Euro primers.

Highly doubtful primer substitution is going to affect anything other than # of pellets in the pattern . No real difference with cartridge case reloading . Change a component and velocity pressure along with POA POI will vary . As for chamber pressures ( Not if the "same powder " and Charge is maintained ) it will fall within safe parameters ) Provided one isn't Proof test loading to begin with Best to consult a reloading manual ,so as to see WHAT powder and Charge are recommended for the particular components your using . Try and cross reference just primer change , if not available compare powder charge weights using SAME HULL .

Fiocchis may enlarge the primer pocket to the point that Win 209s will not stay inserted after..................

Yup... Win 209s may fall right out after using the bigger primers. That's why I mentioned the primer pocket swaging tool. If you're stingy and willing to take the time, you can tighten the primer pockets back up after using the Euro primers. Then, your US 209s will fit snugly again.

I got my tool from Ballistic Products. It works well. I think you have to re-size a whole lot of primer pockets to make using the tool cheaper than replacing the hulls... It's an excuse to buy another gadget for the reloading bench.

I'd be far more concerned with Rio case reloading :

Part # 209 Primers Type & Use: Box/Case Diam.
#F616 Fiocchi 616 multi-purpose 209 1000/5000 0.242"
#RIO209 Rio 209 multi-purpose 209 1000/5000 0.245"
#CH209 Cheddite 209 multi-purpose 209 1000/5000 0.242"
#CCI CCI 209 small-bore & mild 1000/5000 0.241"
#CCIM CCI 209 Magnum magnum 209 uses 1000/5000 0.241"
#209A Federal 209A multi-purpose 209 1000/5000 0.241"
#R209 Remington STS multi-purpose 209 1000/5000 0.241"
#W209 Winchester 209 multi-purpose 209 1000/5000 0.241"

Sounds like keeping the target load data the same and only varying the primer shouldn't have any issues other than enlarging the primer pocket. I don't see that as an issue. I can find hulls. The lack of primers is the problem. It looks like I'll be able to finish the league thru spring which is the short term goal. Component availability come spring is a whole 'nuther issue.
Thanks to all.
