Ponsness Warren 800b?

Anyone have one? Got a steal of a deal, thinking it will replace my MEC 650 in 12 ga.
It's set up for win aa hills, 1 1/8 shot.
Never owned one. Don't know anyone with one. Came with 60 pounds of no6, 20 pounds 8shot, 20 plus pounds of 7.5 shot. 1000 primers, manual and cover.
Paid 200.00. think I did ok. Pick up after the holidays.
Asking how these are? Are the crimps ok straight walled vs taper crimp of the MEC?
Tia.

Taper crimp is better overall and almost mandatory with a pump or semiauto.

Hi,
Sorry, but the best 2 days of my ownership of a PW 800C was...

The day I bought it, and the day I sold it!

Luckily, I got all my money back!

Good luck and remember, all knowledge is good!

Hi,
Thought I would pass on this info. Maybe something more positive?

There is a PW Guru over at Shotgun World that helps people out with their PW troubles.

He thinks I'm nuts for preferring the Texas Progressives over the PW 800's?

Just thought if you have a problem (you will) he might be able to help as he is very knowledgeable!

His moniker is Dano523.

I'm a little late on this thread but I also recently got an 800B
Been cranking out perfect (old style 2 pieces) AA trap shells, 17.7 Red Dot, 1 oz 7 1/2 shot, CB 1118 wad, that cycle fine through my 1100 and Browning A5.

As for the AA shells, something I just learned........ the 800b works great with the old style 2 piece AA hulls but will NOT work with the new 3 piece hulls - unless you buy the upgraded crimping system that will cost near $300.

The cup stands too high with a lip and the wad will not properly seat on the powder

I have about 500 of these hulls that I gathered up at my club that are worthless to me now.. Looks like I'll be a Remington hull guy once my supply of old AA's is done
