He's got the facility for it! The fields are perfectly oriented, all facing the correct direction. Ours here at ORSA are not, but this ridge was the only available spot for skeet/trap. Had we faced them North/Northeast, we would be raining shot on a state highway - never a good idea!
Crossville is centrally located, also. Generally has better weather than the other larger clubs in TN, especially Nashville. Nice place, but right on the Cumberland River so it is humid as heck most all year.
Hope they put on a good shoot with a good draw, as NSSA skeet is a dying sport in TN. While I don't participate any more, I don't want to see it go away.

Six of us went back to Crossville today for Sporting Clays. 60deg and sunny, a gorgeous day. We all shot well (other than the one rookie but he said he had a great time). They have dismantled their 5-stand - no one shoots 5-stand when SC is available! - and moved those machines to the end of the master class sporting short course, now it too has a full 13 stations.
Had our usual lunch at Lefty's Smokehouse, some of the best bbq that I've had - and I have a couple smokers and make my own so I'm picky about going out for 'cue. First rate stuff.
All in all, a fantastic day.
