Fox Savage Model B buttplate?

I've recently acquired through inheritance my wife's grandfather's old quail gun. It's a 1940s vintage Fox Savage Model B 12 ga. I've cleaned up a lot of rust on the barrels and refreshed the old finish a bit but the shotgun is missing the butt-plate. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a replacement for this old gun? Thanks a lot! Gary Brantley. Cameron, Texas

Thanks for that! They were my first choice and I did order one. I knew it would need trimming but the one I got was a lot larger and instead of 2 3/4" spacing between the screws, it was 3". I returned it and bought a repro of another Stevens model that did have the right hole spacing but it is about 1/8" smaller than the stock.

I did find a listing for "Savage Late Double 311 Etc..............$25" at Bob's Gun Shop in Royal, Arkansas. I emailed him and asked about the screw spacing. He said he didn't know and didn't have time to check. I wonder if that one might be worth a try?

I did find a vintage Savage/Stevens buttplate, with a small toe chip, on Ebay. It looked to be in pretty good shape otherwise and the dimensions seemed exactly what I needed, so I made an offer and won it! I think the chip will just suit the character of the old shotgun, and sort of suit the character of the old man who used to use it. Thanks for your help gentlemen! Gary
