New Rem 1100

Are the new Remington 1100’s as good as previous years? I am looking at build quality and longevity.
I have heard of Winchester S/G’s of old that are well thought of on this forum but the newer guns don’t fare so well in the opinion polls and wonder If Remington’s fall in this cagetory.

They absolutely are not of the same quality!

Thanks MM, what year would you say I should look at for a good 1100?

Mid 90s or earlier but really the earlier the better more or less. Before mim became huge and flash hardening was common. Problem with this is no screw in chokes. Easy fix to have it threaded if you desire. Regardless keep extra o-rings for when one cracks or gets knicked.

Great gun but sadly dated the new Beretta 300 series guns and Benelli are better newer design more reliable better resale value. I would move on up used ones are found under a 1000.00 you will not be sorry. Check on Automatic shotgun society on Facebook great place for information on auto loaders

I've got a beretta al391 on gunbroker at the moment too. Upgraded wood and 5 Optima chokes.

There is plenty for the beretta's too but I get your point none the less. I like my 1100 in 20ga but don't shoot it that often as I have better/nicer guns that suit my needs.

I have a remington 1100 competition that has seen cases of shells . Without a hiccup. I run it wet with REM lube and break it down completely after every 500 rounds.
