H&R Pardner Pump Issue

I recently purchased the 20 gauge version of this firearm. I have not put any live rounds through it and now when I dry fire test it, the trigger does not do anything when it is pulled and I have to manually release the pump using the bolt release. Has anyone else had this issue or know the solution to fixing this issue?

Welcome from Florida!
Does your owner's manual say anything about what to expect when dry firing?

It does not. It dry fired fine for a few times. Now trigger essentially does nothing.

Are you fully cycling it after dry-firing. It sounds like the trigger mechanism isn't cocking successfully.

Other thought is it could be the firing pin. Not sure how it would go that quick when I have only dry fired maybe 7 times.
