Any Beretta MkII Trap shooters here?

Its a tank of a single barrel trap gun, they go for half the price of a used Browning BT-99 and are delightful to shoot. I'm mighty fond of mine but I don't see many on the line (actually I haven't seen any other MkIIs on the line!) Do you shoot a MkII? Do you know anyone who does?

I have one on the way...

I just bought one on Gunbroker.com and it should be at my FFL on Monday. I have a Browning BT99 and hope the two are mostly alike and one will stay here in Florida and one with go North for my use over the summer month.

ive shot bt99's for decades and im sorry, they kick.
if the mk2 is heavier, odds are it is nicer than the browning.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the MKII after you get your hands on it. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot many real live trap guns so I'm interested in how the MKII compares, especially with it's BT-99 "competition."
The BT-99's beavertail fore end looks more comfortable but after handling my MKII I find I can do quite nicely without.

A similar looking gun is the Frigon (?) but I've only seen one in pictures.

Bobski, is it true that olive oil is the factory recommended lubricant for Berettas?

about as much as sauerkraut is used to finish stocks on kreighoffs.......

all i can comment on as far as berettas is based solely on what we had at my range back in the 90's. we stocked the club with 682's back then. they all broke after heavy use as rack guns to millions of rounds shot. the ejectors were the first thing to go on them as shells snuck past the the ejector and stupid shooters closed the gun on them. and when it wouldnt close, they tried again only harder.

Report on Beretta MK II Trap Gun

Well, I have been to the trap field a couple of times now and I really like the "new" gun. If I came across another I would buy it and sell the BT99. The BT99 and the Beretta MKII are slightly different in the stock/barrel angle and I am struggling to re-learn how to shoot trap as it is. I would prefer to have two identical guns, one here in Florida and one at my summer home on Cape Cod.

Well, I bought another...

Well I broke down and bought a second Beretta Mark ll Trap gun. One here in Florida and one at Cape Cod. Now to get rid of the others and stick with learning to shoot this same gun.

The 2nd one has not yet arrived...

The 2nd one has not arrived. But even when it does, one will be here in Florida and the other up North. So I won't be able to shoot them one after the other on the same day. And even though I have hunted upland and migratory birds over a 50+ year period, am a novice at trap. The differences you might note would probably be lost on me. I am hoping that the similarities in dimensions together with the clay being somewhat above the front bead will let me develop some consistency and better scores. I have shot a 25 only once in my life, so I have lots of room to get better.
